AT&T union leaders call for reforms

Layoffs spare lower-paid operators in South. One day after AT&T announced it will eliminate the jobs of 100 wireless operators in Connecticut, the head of the union representing telephone workers called for legislation requiring companies to staff call centers in the same state where customers are located.

AT&T Legacy-T Lay-Off Announcement

AT&T announced a lay off which will affect 19 of our brothers and sisters across the nation. The total amount of members affected in our Local 3250’s jurisdiction is 3 and they are located in Georgia, Tennessee, and Florida. The Company is offering some VTP’s in selected surplused titles, which may relieve some of the impact of this forced lay off. We have no members affected by this lay off announcement in, North and South Carolina, and Kentucky.

AT&T LEGACY T-SURPLUS WINDOW

AT&T Legacy T may be declaring a bargaining unit lay-off on Thursday, December 15, 2011. Although this has not been confirmed at this time, the company did inform the Union that December 15th is part of their quarterly window for announcing occupational lay-offs across all of AT&T.
