Article 16-New Per Diem Language

We have received many questions from Members regarding the new Article 16 Per Diem language. The new language changes the $35 and $40 per day per diem expense reimbursement to “the regular per diem rate for meals and incidental expenses as used by the IRS and effective on the day to which the per diem applies.” The complete language covers the eligibility for Per Diem and it is important to familiarize yourself as to what you are entitled to in this Article. The following is Article 16.3 with the new contract language bolded.

No Deal on NLRB Nominees

President Obama must act immediately to restore the ability of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) to protect the rights of American workers by giving recess appointments to two nominees who are being blocked by Senate Republican obstructionists, AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka said.

Expense Allowance-Article 41 Gets It

Today we received some outrageous news that the company has declared their intention to withhold the eight dollars ($8.00) Expense Allowance from selected Article 41 employees in the Atlanta GCA. This is violation of our current contract agreement and decision by the company is being challenged by Local 3250 so it can be corrected in an expeditious manner.
