Local 3250 stepped up their mobilization activities on Red Thursday with a show of over 250 members who demonstrated their solidarity in front of 2800 Century Center, in Atlanta. These actions were repeated in Locals throughout the country. We are sure that the company and their scab contractors took notice of the strength and commitment that was demonstrated for a fair and just contract.
Our bargaining committee wants to thank all CWA Locals from across the country for their mobilization efforts and support for their bargaining team. Our members support is constantly measured and gauged by the company and it is critical we demonstrate that we are one voice during these difficult negotiations. Whether its shoes, clickers, or CWA towers in the workplace, informational pickets or organizing customers, the message is all the same, that we are prepared to fight for job security, healthcare, pension improvement, and to gain a contract that is equitable for all CWA Members. With less than two weeks until expiration, there is going to have to be a lot of progress for us to reach an agreement by contract expiration on April 4th. Now that we have sent them multiple messages, we have to step up other activities. We need to increase mobilization efforts on the job. The only thing that will work is for all CWA Members to keep mobilizing – every worker, in every location. Now is the time to step up and join your brothers and sisters in this struggle for our future.
In Unity There is Strength,
Roy Hegenbart President CWA Local 3250 |
