Although AT&T is crying poverty and blaming the economic crisis on American workers, it appears they are not being truthful to the American Public. It seems that they can afford healthcare, pensions, and decent wages. AT&T is now the eighth largest company in the U.S., by revenue, according to Fortune. They moved up two places on the 2009 Fortune 500 list, which ranked companies by revenue in 2008. AT&T placed above Verizon Communications (No. 17) and Sprint Nextel (No. 64) on the list. It looks like they are going to squirrel away their profits and try to worm their way out of agreeing to a fair and just contract with the bargaining unit members. They say give backs, we say fight back.
