AT&T: Your World Delivered, Your Job Diminished |

Does it make sense that a company that was named the American Telephone and Telegraph to send thousands of American jobs overseas and actively hire employees on H-1B Visas from other countries? In an era when the unemployment rate is nearing double digits, we question if this is the American way?
AT$T and many other corporations openly acknowledge the use of OUTSOURCING of jobs. However, at the same time they're silently IN-SOURCING H-1B workers from other countries. H-1B foreign workers may be hired even when a qualified U.S. worker is available and wants the job. A U.S. worker can be displaced from employment in favor of the H-1B foreign workers. In fact an American worker can be required to train their H1B replacement before they are finally laid off. Outsourcing damages the local labor market and by this transfer of employment, it affects American jobs, American Families and American Communities. AT$T continues to lower the BAR on American Workers by not only OUTSOURCING our work but IN-SOURCING workers as well. Not only is this creating a shadow work force that lowers the overall wages and benefits of all workers, it contributes to undermining the U.S. recovery effort and economy as well. That is the corporate strategy; it’s a race to the bottom of the wage scale on the backs of American workers. |
