House for Sale
Monday, 24 August 2009

While AT&T was engaged in bargaining contracts with us during March and letting the world know how difficult these negotiations would be because of the economic conditions, Reuters reported that, in March, AT&T Inc said it paid $1.7 million for Chief Executive Randall Stephenson's home when it relocated him to Dallas. Imagine that?

This is the usual way AT&T talks from both sides of their mouth. They tell us that they can’t afford healthcare or agree to job security, but they can afford the outrageous wages, benefits and job security for their executives and of course the house for the CEO. Since AT&T merged all the pension funds together they say they can’t afford a decent pension hike for the rank and file, but their executives can access our pension fund for their own retirement.

We guess times are not as bad as what they said, unless you are in the rank and file.
